Have you ever rated how much you love your life?
I mean a serious, eyes wide open, "I'm going to evaluate my life" sort of way.
For most of my life, I never really took a deep look at what was working and what wasn't.
Sure I'd be able to tell you if I loved my job, if I was in a relationship and happy about it, or if I wanted to move or not. But I couldn't have a real conversation about what parts of my life I was MADLY in love with, and which ones I wasn't.
And why would I? I almost felt guilty or that I was bragging when I would tell people how much I loved working for myself.
And then when I was single and not loving it, I would pretend that I was single for a reason or that at least the terrible dates I had been on were entertaining.
Can you think of the last time you were completely honest with anyone about how your life was going? Including yourself?
What would it be like to no longer have blinders on how you were feeling about your life and instead take actionable steps to become madly in love with your life?
Does that excite you?
Or does it make you want to run away and never read a blog post of mine again?
There's no right or wrong here. Just something to notice.
Right now, I'm sitting in a boathouse by Loch Lomond aka a giant lake in Scotland and I have just declared my life's mission out-loud to my friend Linda.
My mission is for everyone who works with me, invests one of my products, reads my emails, follows me online, and meets me in person starts taking actionable steps to become madly in love with their life.
Because I believe if we were all madly in love with our lives the world would be a better place.
And just to call it out. When I say madly in love, I don't mean we all have 10 billion dollars and are married to the hottest celebrity. I mean we our in love with our lives. The good, the not so great, and the magical.
So if you would like to be madly in love with yourself and your life - I encourage you to embark on a journey with me to make that happen.
Step 1: Get clear on what's working and not working in your life. To do that. Take out a piece of paper. Write down every aspect of your life that you can think of. Your job, your home, your relationship with your mom, your weight, your travel schedule, anything you can think of.
Step 2: Rank each area of your life on a scale from 1 - 10 with 10 being the highest on how great that area of your life is.
Step 3: Ask yourself, if that area of your life were a 10, what would it look like?
Take time to do this exercise this week. It's only the beginning. But it helps present what is working in your life and what areas could use a makeover.
